The traditional open-air market of Passo Ripe for the Sant'Antonio feast
The Sant'Antonio Fair is one of the most cherished events by the community of Trecastelli, a municipality in the province of Ancona, in the Marche region. It takes place in the hamlet of Passo Ripe, along via Fornace, and celebrates the Sant'Antonio feast with a traditional open-air market that has marked the beginning of summer in the Marche for generations.
The fair originates from the deep bond between the territory and the figure of Sant'Antonio, an occasion that intertwines religious tradition, cultural identity, and community spirit. Like many patronal fairs in the province of Ancona, the one in Passo Ripe is rooted in an ancient custom: the saint's feast day became an opportunity to gather merchants, farmers, and inhabitants of the surrounding areas in a large open-air market.
For a morning, via Fornace transforms into a path of stalls where you can browse and shop in a festive summer atmosphere. Among the stands, you'll find a bit of everything:
The fair is above all a moment for the community: a simple and authentic occasion to gather in the streets of the hamlet, enjoy the early summer morning atmosphere, and breathe in the identity of the Marca Senone, the historical territory that includes Trecastelli and the municipalities of the lower Misa valley.
Established in 2014 from the merger of the municipalities of Ripe, Monterado, and Castel Colonna, Trecastelli is a scattered municipality made up of villages and hamlets, each with its own traditions. Passo Ripe, along the route connecting the hinterland to the Senigallia coast, is one of the most vibrant centers, and the Sant'Antonio Fair is one of its most cherished expressions.
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, the traditional Sant'Antonio Fair returns to Passo Ripe di Trecastelli. Along via Fornace, the characteristic open-air market unfolds, with stalls offering opportunities for encounters and strolls in a festive mood.
As every year, the fair combines religious tradition, cultural identity, and community spirit: a morning of curiosity, products, and initiatives designed for the community and for those who want to discover the roots of this corner of the province of Ancona.
The day is dedicated to the Sant'Antonio open-air market:
