The patron saint's feast of Rho, blending agriculture, faith, and tradition
The San Vittore Festival is dedicated to the patron saint of Rho (Metropolitan City of Milan), Saint Victor the Martyr, whose liturgical feast day falls on May 8th. The popular festival is held in Piazza San Vittore, in front of the parish church named after the martyr, transforming the city center into a grand space for celebration and tradition.
The event focuses on the agricultural roots of the area: the square comes alive with farm animals, traditional agricultural machinery, and stalls featuring products from local farms, thanks to the collaboration with Coldiretti and the Olona Valley agricultural district. There are also workshops for children and a craft market that enlivens the streets of the center.
Alongside the popular dimension, the religious and cultural aspects remain strong: the day includes guided tours of the San Vittore Parish Church, curated by the Public Library, and moments of folk music and traditional dances. However, the most anticipated moment is the 'Risotto del Contadino', offered free in the square, culminating a festival that intertwines devotion, rural identity, and Rho's conviviality.
On Sunday, May 10, 2026, Rho will celebrate its patron saint with the San Vittore Festival, in Piazza San Vittore. The saint's liturgical feast day is May 8th, while the popular festival enlivens the square all day long.
The event offers a rich program that blends peasant tradition, faith, and culture: from farm animals to agricultural machinery, from children's workshops to guided tours of the parish church, to folk music. The highlight is the 'Risotto del Contadino', offered free in the evening.
During the day: country-style fried potatoes with craft beer and a craft market.
Piazza San Vittore is located in the historic center of Rho, a few minutes' walk from the Rho train station. By car, it can be reached from the Tangenziale Ovest (West Ring Road) and the A8 motorway.
The event is free and takes place outdoors all day. For guided tours of the church, booking through the Public Library of Rho is recommended.
