Ceranova's patronal feast in honor of Saint Vito
The San Vito Festival is the most cherished feast in Ceranova, a town in the plain of the Province of Pavia, a short distance from the provincial capital. Dedicated to the patron saint Vito, celebrated along with Saints Modestus and Crescentia, it is a tradition that every year, around mid-June, brings the community together around its parish church and the streets of the center.
The religious part of the feast revolves around the parish of Saints Vito and Modestus and includes a solemn mass and a procession with the images of the patron saints carried through the town's streets. It is the most heartfelt moment for the community, which renews an ancient bond with its protectors, as also noted by the Diocese of Pavia, which recalls the event as the traditional San Vito Festival.
Alongside the religious celebrations, the festival has its popular and convivial side, with food stalls, a charity raffle, and festive moments for all ages. The organization is managed by the APS Comitato San Vito Ceranova, which presents the event's program each year.
More than just an event, the San Vito Festival is an occasion for Ceranova to come together and express its identity. For visitors to this corner of Lombardy, it is an authentic way to discover the traditions of the lower Pavia region, amidst popular faith, gastronomy, and community life.
For the 2026 edition, Ceranova renews its patronal feast. The detailed program will be presented by the APS Comitato San Vito Ceranova in the weeks preceding the event.
