A countryside festival in the heart of the Marche

San Savino in Festa is one of the most cherished spring events in Civitanova, held in the square in front of the small and ancient church of San Savino, nestled in the countryside between Civitanova Alta and the hinterland of the Municipality of Civitanova Marche, in the Province of Macerata. Far from the seafront and the summer nightlife, here you can experience the most genuine and rural dimension of the Marche region: a rural village that for a few days comes alive again with people, culinary aromas, and music.

The night procession and blessing of the fields

The most traditional and evocative moment is the night procession that opens the event: in the evening, around 9 PM, the procession winds through the countryside accompanied by the musical band and concludes with the solemn blessing of the fields, an ancient propitiatory rite linked to the agricultural cycle and popular devotion to the saint. It is an event that unites the community and renews a deep bond with the land and its seasons.

Food stalls

The convivial heart of the festival are the Pro Loco's food stalls, which open from late morning. On the table, you'll find the typical flavors of Marche tradition:

• Gnocchi con la papera (gnocchi with duck sauce), a symbolic peasant dish of the hinterland
• Mixed grill and porchetta (roast pork)
• Sausage sandwiches
• Freshly baked pinsas
• Craft beer and local wines

Live music and entertainment

The afternoons and evenings of the weekend are enlivened by live music, with tribute bands performing the greatest hits of Italian songs. There are also attractions for families: a wooden playground for children, a wheel of fortune, and ample free parking designed to comfortably accommodate visitors and families.

The event is organized by Pro Loco Civitanova Alta in collaboration with the municipal administration.
