The festival of cave-grown pioppini mushrooms in Torri di Arcugnano
The San Luca Festival takes place in Torri di Arcugnano, a hamlet in the municipality of Arcugnano, in the province of Vicenza, in the heart of the Berici Hills. Its unique feature is the celebration of the cave-grown pioppino mushroom, a mushroom cultivated in natural cavities in the area, a true gastronomic excellence of the territory. For this reason, the event is also known as the Festival of Cave-Grown Pioppini Mushrooms.
The gastronomic stand, open every evening from 7 PM, offers a varied menu rooted in Vicenza tradition: cave-grown pioppini mushrooms featured in numerous dishes, bigoli with ragù, duck gnocchi, spicy horse stew, and grilled meats. Takeaway service is also available, along with a menu designed for children.
The evenings combine good food with music and dancing, along with a charity raffle and entertainment. Among the new features for the 2026 edition is the double spit-roast: two events dedicated to spit-roasting, a symbol of Venetian grilled meat cuisine.
Torri di Arcugnano is one of the hamlets that make up the widespread municipality of Arcugnano, nestled in the landscape of the Berici Hills just a few kilometers from Vicenza. The San Luca Festival is an opportunity to discover this corner of the Vicenza area and its gastronomy, originally linked to the natural environment of the territory.
The 37th San Luca Festival, the Festival of Cave-Grown Pioppini Mushrooms, takes place in Torri di Arcugnano from May 15 to 18, 2026. The gastronomic stand, open every evening from 7 PM with takeaway service, offers cave-grown pioppini mushrooms in numerous dishes, as well as bigoli and duck gnocchi, gnocchi with ragù or tomato sauce, rigatoni with mushrooms and sausage, grilled meats, ribs, and horse stew with mushrooms and cheese.
New for 2026 is "The Spit-Roast Doubles": Friday, May 15, a meat spit-roast with side dishes, and Monday, May 18, a second event dedicated to the spit-roast. On Monday, May 18, at 9:15 PM, a dancing evening with Alberto Raniero.
The cave-grown pioppini mushrooms, the new double spit-roast, and the final dancing evening.
