Since 1967, the Madonna festival in Lerino, with homemade gnocchi and ballroom dancing
The Lerino Festival, also known as the Ancient Festival of the Madonna, takes place every year in June in Lerino, a hamlet of Torri di Quartesolo, in the province of Vicenza. Its origins date back to 1967, when the statue of the Virgin was placed on the church bell tower to commemorate the Madonna's maternal protection over the town and its people after the 1966 flood.
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the covered stand, featuring the specialty of homemade gnocchi and homemade pasta, accompanied by a catering service and a Vicenza wine exhibition with tastings. There is also a bar with cocktails, allowing you to enjoy the festival late into the evening in a convivial atmosphere.
The festival offers ballroom dancing evenings with orchestras, true protagonists of Venetian tradition, as well as a Youth Area with cover band music, designed for younger attendees. Completing the program are shows, painting exhibitions, and the traditional charity raffle, striking a balance between tradition and offerings for visitors of all generations.
Organized by the parish community of Lerino with the NOI association and local volunteers, the Sagra della Madonna is an example of the richness of Vicenza's hamlet festivals, where Marian devotion becomes an occasion for meeting, historical remembrance, and popular celebration for all of Torri di Quartesolo.
The Lerino Festival 2026 returns in June to Lerino, a hamlet of Torri di Quartesolo (VI), confirming the appointment with the Ancient Festival of the Madonna.
