A summer without a festival

For August 2025, there are no records of editions of the Salami Festival in Caselle in Pittari, in the province of Salerno. The event, historically organized by the Pro Loco in Piazza Olmo, had been suspended for some time: local sources that announced the resumption in 2026 speak of a return "after years of absence".

The cultural life of the village, however, did not stop: the summer calendar of the Cilento municipality continued to revolve around film festivals, exhibitions set up at the Castle, patronal feasts, and the Palio del Grano, the re-enactment of ancient agricultural practices that involves the entire community and remains one of the strongest identity traits of Caselle in Pittari.

The Caselle salami, the star of the festival, remained in any case a reference product of local gastronomy, appreciated for its traditional processing techniques and the quality of the meat used. Its return to the square, with the 32nd edition in August 2026, was welcomed as one of the most anticipated announcements of the summer.
