The winter festival of the hamlet of Igne, between devotion and mountain conviviality
The Saint Valentine's Festival takes place in Igne, a small hamlet in the municipality of Longarone (province of Belluno) nestled at almost 580 meters above sea level. It is one of the few winter festivals in the Belluno area: in mid-February, while the Dolomites are still snow-covered, the community of Igne opens a heated marquee that becomes the meeting point for the entire region.
The star is mountain cuisine, with menus that change daily: from casunziei (the typical ravioli from Ampezzo and Cadore) to cod bavarian cream, from barley soup to venison with polenta, up to grilled meats. The food stand also offers takeaway service, with dedicated hours for lunch and dinner.
The festival combines good food and fun: a heated dance floor, live music, activities for children, tournaments, and the traditional Saint Valentine's Tombola. There is also a charitable aspect, with lunch offered to the town's over-80s. The event is also a green festival, with washable crockery, reusable tablecloths, and glass bottles with a deposit system.
The 2026 edition of the Saint Valentine's Festival in Igne runs from Friday, February 13th to Sunday, February 15th. The program alternates mountain gastronomy, live music, and community moments in the hamlet's heated marquee.
Igne is a hamlet of Longarone, reachable from the SS51 Alemagna highway just a few minutes from the center of Longarone. Longarone-Zoldo train station on the Belluno–Calalzo line.
Takeaway: lunch 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM, dinner 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM. Heated marquee for table service and dancing.
