Ten days of music, history, and traditions in the village of Collescipoli
The Saint Nicholas Festival is the festival of the medieval village of Collescipoli, a hamlet of Terni, in Umbria. For ten days, the village comes alive with a rich and varied program, designed as a concrete opportunity for gathering, cultural promotion, and village enhancement. It is organized by the Amici di Pietro per Collescipoli, who build a calendar between the sacred and the profane each year.
The program alternates between concerts, comedy shows, dance performances, cultural moments, and a evocative medieval historical pageant that takes the village back to its origins. There is also the Solemn Mass with choir and procession accompanied by the band and the drummers of the Sancti Nicolai group, a documentary on the village's memory, the Collescimpiadi for children, the craft market, and the archery competition.
The gastronomic heart of the festival is the "Turritulum" tavern, open every evening, where you can taste the village's specialty: gnocchetti alla collescipolana, accompanied by traditional local dishes. The Saint Nicholas Festival represents one of the moments of the year when Collescipoli, a splendid hillside village south of Terni, rediscovers its historical and community identity.
