The Festival of Cassola's Patron Saint
The Saint Mark Festival is the patronal feast of Cassola, a municipality in the Bassano area of the province of Vicenza, dedicated to Saint Mark the Evangelist. Organized by the Parish of Saint Mark the Evangelist, it takes place in April over two weekends, animating the town with seven evenings of celebration under the large tent of the festival grounds.
Music, Motors, and Tradition
The heart of the festival is live music: six concerts with tribute bands to the greats of Italian song - from Libera Uscita (Ligabue tribute) to Rock Star (Vasco Rossi tribute), up to 70s-90s cover bands - accompanied each evening by DJ sets. Alongside these are events that draw the entire community: the Motor Day with a vintage vehicle rally and blessing, the 21st Village Walk, the artisan product market, and traditional games like the spacca pignatte (pot-smashing) and the Greased Pole for eighteen-year-olds.
Dining and Community
The food stand, also managed by the local blood donor group, offers gnocchi, grilled meats, fried fish, and bruschetta, with themed evenings like the stinco (pork knuckle) dinner. Highlights include the Sunday Saint Mark's Lunch and the Mass with the parish choir. A festival that in Cassola intertwines faith, taste, and fun, involving families and young people from the entire area.
Saint Mark Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 Saint Mark Festival takes place in Cassola (VI) over two weekends, from April 17-19 and 23-26, under the large tent of the festival grounds. Organized by the Parish of Saint Mark the Evangelist. The food stand offers gnocchi, grilled meats, fried fish, and bruschetta, with a wine bar by the RDS Montegrappa blood donor group.
The music program includes six live concerts (tributes to Ligabue, Vasco Rossi, and 70s-90s covers) with DJ sets every evening. Among the events: the 2nd Motor Day with vintage vehicle blessing (April 19), the 21st Village Walk (April 25), the artisan product market, and Saint Mark's lunch (April 26).
