The patronal feast of La Ramera, in Ponteranica, between late April and early May
The Saint George Festival is the patronal feast of the La Ramera district, in Ponteranica, a municipality on the outskirts of Bergamo. It is celebrated between late April and the first few days of May at the Oratory of La Ramera and takes its name from the church of Saint George the Martyr, on Via delle Roveri, around which the religious moments of the feast revolve.
The festivities open with Mass and procession on Saint George's Day, followed by several evenings of celebration. The convivial heart is the indoor self-service restaurant, accompanied by a bar, fries, fritters, and the wheel of fortune. There are also moments dedicated to kindergarten families, Mass for wedding anniversaries, tombola, and an artisan market.
The Saint George Festival also has a strong solidarity dimension: the proceeds are mainly intended for parish work, support for the parish kindergarten, and the work of some missionaries linked to the community. An event that, in Ponteranica, in the province of Bergamo, combines religious tradition, conviviality, and commitment to the local area.
For 2026, the Saint George Festival is renewed at the Oratory of La Ramera, in Ponteranica, during the usual window between late April and early May. The festival confirms the tried-and-tested formula: opening with Mass and procession of the patron saint Saint George the Martyr and, for several days, the indoor self-service restaurant, bar, fritters, wheel of fortune, tombola, and artisan market.
The detailed schedule, with dates and times, will be communicated by the parish and the oratory in the weeks preceding the event.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be communicated by the parish in the preceding weeks. The usual structure of the festival, documented in the 2025 edition, includes:
