The 2025 edition of the festival
The 14th edition of the Sagra te lu Pummitoru Schiattarisciatu was held from August 1 to 3, 2025, in the Villa Comunale of Aradeo, in the province of Lecce, concluding with great enthusiasm and high attendance. The absolute star was the tomato fried in oil, garlic, and basil—a true living story of Salento's peasant cuisine.
Among the event's highlights were over 130 kg of fresh pasta served with various sauces, thousands of meatballs in sauce and fried, along with friselle, grilled dishes, and traditional desserts. The evenings were enlivened by three live musical performances, featuring regional music, 80s hits, and a tribute band dedicated to Vasco Rossi. The workshops for children dedicated to preparing fresh handmade pasta were highly appreciated and involved multiple generations.
The organization, managed by the Nuova Pro Loco of Aradeo with its committee and numerous volunteers, also adhered to the Ecofesta Puglia project for waste reduction and sorting. Admission was free.
