Sagra te la Carne te Cavaddhru

2025 Edition: 25th Anniversary

The 25th edition of the Sagra te la Carne te Cavaddhru took place on August 22 and 23, 2025 in the historic center of Seclì, celebrating twenty-five years of tradition. The event, presented at Palazzo Adorno in Lecce, was coordinated by the Pro Loco Seclì led by president Giancarlo Scarlino, with the patronage of the Province of Lecce, the Municipality (Mayor Andrea Finamore), and the Region of Puglia.

The main star was the horse meat sandwich in sauce: over 40,000 pieces served on the first night alone, accompanied by traditional pasta, local vegetables, and typical sweets. More than 15,000 visitors crowded the village on the first night, welcomed by about 150 volunteers of all ages. The musical program combined DJ sets and Salento folk music: Friday the 22nd with Dj Carrino and Viaggio Popolare, Saturday the 23rd with Jonica Popolare and Officina Zoè, with the participation of the children of the famous tambourine player Pino Zimba.
