Ravioli, the queen of the Ligurian table

In the hinterland of Genoa, behind the Golfo Paradiso, the hamlet of Testana — in the Municipality of Avegno (Province of Genoa) — dedicates a summer festival to one of the symbolic dishes of Ligurian cuisine: homemade ravioli. The Sagra del Raviolo di Testana is a July event that attracts gourmets and visitors to the small valley village.

Ravioli, asado, and focaccia col formaggio

The festival's menu centers on ravioli prepared according to tradition, alongside other appreciated specialties such as asado and focaccia col formaggio, a true excellence of the eastern Ligurian Riviera. The covered stalls open in the evening, around 7:30 PM, and dancing begins later, around 9:30 PM, in a festive and convivial atmosphere typical of village festivals.

A hamlet's celebration

The Sagra del Raviolo is above all a gathering moment for the community of Testana and for those who choose the Ligurian hinterland for their summer holidays. With free admission, the event celebrates the flavors and social life of one of the many hamlets dotting the hills behind the Golfo Paradiso, in a green and tranquil corner of the Riviera di Levante.
