Pizzoccheri are back in the spotlight in Sovere

The Sagra dei Pizzoccheri is one of the most anticipated gastronomic events of the summer in Sovere, a municipality in Alto Sebino in the Province of Bergamo. Organised by the Pro Loco, it takes place at Parco Senatore Silvestri and celebrates one of the symbolic dishes of Lombardy's mountain cuisine.

A dish from Alpine tradition

The absolute stars are pizzoccheri, the short buckwheat tagliatelle typical of Valtellina, seasoned with savoy cabbage, potatoes, butter, and cheese. Although originating from the province of Sondrio, pizzoccheri have also become a classic at Bergamo festivals, and in Sovere, they find an ideal setting among the hills sloping down towards Lake Iseo.

Music, dancing, and conviviality

The festival is not just about food: the evenings are accompanied by music and dancing, with orchestras and bands animating the park until late at night. The simple and proven formula makes this event a gathering point for the Sovere community and visitors from neighbouring towns.

Sovere, with its historic centre and hamlets spread between the valley and the hills, is one of the gateways to Alto Sebino. The Sagra dei Pizzoccheri is part of the Pro Loco's rich summer calendar, which throughout the year offers various food and wine events at Parco Silvestri.
