The Carnival of all Saccisica
The Saccisica Carnival is the main Carnival event for Piove di Sacco and the entire Saccisica territory, in the province of Padua. For one Sunday, the historic center transforms into an open-air stage, crossed by the parade of allegorical floats and masked groups.
Floats, bands, and masks
The absolute protagonists are the allegorical floats, the result of the work of local groups, accompanied by bands and masked groups on foot that liven up the streets of the town. The festive atmosphere especially involves children, with confetti, streamers, and lots of entertainment.
A town tradition
Organized by the Municipality of Piove di Sacco together with the Pro Loco and local associations, the Saccisica Carnival is an eagerly awaited event that unites the towns in the area in one big spring celebration.
Saccisica Carnival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the Saccisica Carnival will be held on Sunday, March 15, in Piove di Sacco. The historic center will be closed to traffic from 8:00 AM to 9:30 PM to welcome the grand parade of allegorical floats, accompanied by bands and masked groups on foot.
The event, organized by the Municipality together with the Pro Loco, fills the town's streets with colors and entertainment, on a day of celebration dedicated especially to children and families from the area.

How to get there
Piove di Sacco can be reached from Padua in about 20 minutes by car (SP3) or by intercity bus. The parade winds through the historic center, where traffic changes are planned for the day of the event.
When
The parade is held on Carnival Sunday, with the historic center closed to traffic for the entire day.

In case of bad weather, the event may be postponed or canceled for safety reasons.
