Non-competitive and solidarity run for the fight against Parkinson's
The Run for Parkinson – Family Run is a non-competitive running race that takes place in Voghera, in the province of Pavia, during the world day dedicated to raising awareness about Parkinson's disease. The event is designed to be truly open to everyone: you can run or walk along the streets of the city center, choosing between a short family-friendly route and a longer one.
The event is organized by ASD Atletica Iriense Voghera together with local health and association organizations, including the Operative Unit of Neurology of the Voghera Civil Hospital, the Associazione Pavese Parkinsoniani, and the Italian Red Cross, under the patronage of the Municipality of Voghera. The proceeds support research and assistance projects for people with Parkinson's.
Each edition attracts thousands of participants, with a strong presence of schools, families, and sports groups from the city and the Oltrepò Pavese, in a festive atmosphere that makes solidarity the true goal.
The 14th edition of the Run for Parkinson in Voghera saw approximately two thousand participants. The event offered two non-competitive routes: a Family Run of about 3 km and a 10 km race. The 10 km was won by Luca Atzori (36'41"). There was a large participation from the city's schools. The event, organized by Atletica Iriense with local associations, donated the proceeds to the Associazione Pavese Parkinsoniani.
Clowns also enlivened the event.
