The Rosso Conero Festival in Camerano

The Rosso Conero Festival is the most important food and wine event in the Municipality of Camerano, in the Province of Ancona, in the heart of the Conero Riviera. Every year, at the beginning of September, the historic center of the village comes alive for three days dedicated to the region's symbolic wine, Rosso Conero DOC, produced mainly from Montepulciano grapes grown on the hills sloping down to the Adriatic Sea.

The wine protagonist

Rosso Conero is a wine with an intense ruby color, full-bodied and structured, which pairs perfectly with traditional Marche dishes. During the festival, the main wineries of the area offer their labels: among the historic companies participating are Umani Ronchi, Garofoli, Marchetti, Lanari, Malacari, Conte Leopardi, Silvano Strologo, and many other local realities. The tastings are accompanied by typical Marche cuisine dishes, from vincisgrassi to Ascolana olives, to local desserts and products.

Attractions and traditions

The spectacular grape stomping barefoot is the heart of the event, a competition that evokes the ancient gestures of the harvest. Along the village streets, a rich market of crafts and typical products winds its way, while concerts, street artist performances, dances, poetry moments, and entertainment for children liven up squares and alleys.
