Rose Festival

A tradition over a century old

The Rose Festival in Induno Olona, in the province of Varese, has its roots in 1913: over a hundred years of history make this event one of the longest-standing and most characteristic in the Varese area. Every spring, the village is adorned with flowers and fragrances, transforming into an authentic widespread garden that attracts enthusiasts, families, and the curious from all over the province.

The heart of the festival: the Roseto della Pace

The focal point of the event is the Roseto della Pace, located on Via Carlo Maciachini, recognised as one of the Grandi Giardini Italiani (Great Italian Gardens). Here, the most anticipated and characteristic event takes place: the competition "La Rosa Recisa più bella" (The Most Beautiful Cut Rose), where participants present their roses, judged by a commission of experts from Airosa and Grandi Giardini Italiani. It is a competition that blends friendly rivalry, botanical culture, and civic pride.

Art, music, and local flavours

Alongside the floral competition, the festival features art exhibitions, displays of drawings and paintings, live music, and food stalls. Particularly noteworthy is the presence of PizzAut, the work inclusion project for young people with autism, whose food truck brings a message of solidarity as well as good food to the square. The Induno Olona Philharmonic Orchestra accompanies the days with musical moments also dedicated to children.

A community event

The event is organised by the Municipality of Induno Olona together with the Pro Loco and Asfarm, in a synergy that involves the entire community. For the Municipality and the entire Varese region, the Rose Festival represents the symbolic event marking the arrival of spring, capable of uniting the natural dimension of the rose garden with the cultural and social life of the town.
