Eighty years of a two-wheeled legend

In 1946, the first Vespa was born in Pontedera, destined to become one of the most recognizable symbols of Italian design and lifestyle worldwide. To celebrate the 80th anniversary of this icon, the Piaggio Group has chosen Rome and its Foro Italico as the stage for the largest Vespa gathering in the brand's history. From June 25 to 28, 2026, the Capital will welcome tens of thousands of Vespa riders from over 60 nations for an event that blends motorcycling passion, culture, music, and entertainment.

The Vespa Village at the Stadio dei Marmi

The beating heart of the event is the Vespa Village, set up at the Stadio dei Marmi within the Foro Italico: an exhibition and entertainment area spanning approximately 126,000 square meters, with free admission open to everyone. The space will host the "80 Years of Vespa" photo exhibition, stands, areas dedicated to Vespa Clubs, public spaces, and musical performances to liven up the Roman evenings. It is a true themed village where families, curious visitors, and collectors can immerse themselves in the history and culture of Vespa.

The grand parade in the heart of Rome

The most anticipated moment is the Grand Parade on Saturday morning: thousands of Vespas of every era and model will ride through the streets of the Capital, touching some of the city's most iconic spots, including the Lungotevere, Via del Corso, Via dei Fori Imperiali, and the Circus Maximus. It is a unique spectacle that turns Rome into an open-air runway, where the city's historical heritage engages with the industrial and cultural legacy of an Italian icon.

Championships, elegance contests, and entertainment

The program is packed with sporting and celebratory events: from the European Vespa Rally Championship to the World Gymkhana Championship, and the refined Elegance Contest on Sunday, where the rarest and most precious models are showcased alongside vintage attire. There will also be a treasure hunt, award ceremonies, and a lineup of concerts and DJ sets to accompany the evenings at the Village.

An event for Rome and the Lazio region

Organized by the Piaggio Group under the patronage of Roma Capitale, the rally represents one of the most important events of the 2026 Roman summer, capable of attracting enthusiasts from all over the world to the Municipality of Rome, the Metropolitan City of Rome Capital, and the Lazio region. Between institutional celebrations—such as the commemorative coin from the Ministry of Economy and the special postmark from Poste Italiane—and the popular festivities of the Vespa riders, Vespa Rome 2026 is both a tribute to a masterpiece of Italian design and a grand celebration open to the city.
