Valentine's Day in the Civic Museums and throughout Rome
RomAmor is the festival that the Municipality of Rome, through the Capitoline Superintendency for Cultural Heritage and in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura, dedicates to Valentine's Day each year. For a few days in February, the Civic Museums and the city's most beautiful spots become the stage for a widespread program of themed guided tours, urban itineraries, theatrical readings, and creative activities, all built around the universal theme of love.
The strength of RomAmor lies in its ability to interpret love across every era and medium. The program spans the city's history from prehistory to the 20th century: from the Pleistocene evidence at the Casal de' Pazzi Museum to the collections of the Gallery of Modern Art, passing through the archaeology of the Villa of Maxentius, the Risorgimento memories of the Museum of the Roman Republic, and the paintings of Palazzo Braschi. Each stop reveals a different facet of the sentiment, blending myth, art, literature, and daily life.
RomAmor is not limited to museum halls: the festival steps outdoors, engaging the urban fabric with itineraries such as a walk through the street art of Pigneto and readings at the Circus Maximus, where words of love resonate among the remains of the ancient circus. It is a way to rediscover Rome with an intimate and engaging perspective, perfect for couples, families, residents, and tourists alike.
Included in the cultural calendar of Rome Capital and the Lazio Region, RomAmor confirms the city's commitment to making its immense heritage accessible and vibrant. The activities are designed as shared experiences, often free for MIC Card holders, and require booking to ensure high-quality, small-group visits.
From February 13th to 22nd, 2026, the Capitoline Superintendency for Cultural Heritage offered a rich program of love-themed events in the Civic Museums and city sites, featuring guided tours, urban itineraries, and theatrical readings. Participating venues included the Museum of Rome at Palazzo Braschi, the Gallery of Modern Art, the Museum of the Roman Republic, the Casal de' Pazzi Museum, the Villa of Maxentius, and the Museum of the Walls, concluding at the Circus Maximus.
