The Rome leg of the international dance competition circuit by Danze Italia
The Roma Winter Edition is the Rome stage of the national competition circuit organized by Danze Italia in collaboration with ENDAS Danza, a sports promotion body recognized by CONI. Every January, the Capital hosts dancers, students, and dance schools from all over the country for a full day of competition that blends technical rigor, emotion, and team spirit. The event takes place in Rome, Lazio, and is one of the most anticipated winter highlights of the circuit.
The competition is open to a wide range of styles to showcase every training path. Admitted disciplines include:
Performances are divided into solos, duets, and groups, with maximum durations set by the regulations and a thirty-second grace period per section.
To ensure fair competition, participants are divided into categories: Baby (4-8 years), Kids (9-11 years), Juniors (12-15 years), and Seniors (16 years and older). This structure allows the youngest to take their first steps in a friendly competitive environment, while more mature students can test themselves before an audience and a qualified jury.
Performances are evaluated by a jury of prestigious figures in the dance world, whose decisions are final. For each section, category, and discipline, the first, second, and third place winners are awarded medals, trophies, and scholarships. The most coveted goal is direct access to the national grand finale of the circuit, held in Rome in May: winners of the regional stages earn their pass to the final challenge, historically hosted in prestigious city theaters.
More than just a competition, the Roma Winter Edition is an opportunity for growth and networking for dance schools. Competition choreographies are filmed and shared on the circuit's social media channels, offering students visibility and a lasting memory of the experience. For families accompanying the young dancers, the day is also a perfect opportunity to discover Rome and its extraordinary cultural offerings.
The 2026 edition was held in Rome on Sunday, January 18, 2026, with a continuous program from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. The competition, organized by Danze Italia in collaboration with ENDAS Danza, brought together dancers and dance schools from all over Italy for a day of performances in the solo, duet, and group categories.
The competition disciplines ranged from classical and neoclassical to modern, contemporary, hip hop, and special categories (contamination, choreographic composition, video dance, and heels dance). As per the circuit's tradition, the top three finishers in each section, category, and discipline received medals, trophies, and scholarships, with direct access to the national grand finale scheduled in Rome in May.
Single day of competition, Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
The competition venue is located in Rome, well-connected by the local public transport network (metro, buses, and regional trains). Those arriving by train can rely on the Rome Termini and Rome Tiburtina stations, both served by high-speed rail. By car, the Capital is reached via the A1 motorway and the Grande Raccordo Anulare (GRA).
Registration is handled through the Danze Italia circuit. Participation fees start at โฌ60 for soloists. For the detailed program, schedule, and updated venue, please contact the secretariat at [email protected] or visit the official website.
