Roma Plurale – Festival of Cultural Encounters is an event dedicated to fostering dialogue among the many communities that live in and pass through Rome. Through music, theater, dance, performance, and visual arts, the festival transforms Municipio XI into a laboratory of encounter, where the city's diverse cultural identities can share their stories, mingle, and find common ground. It is an opportunity to discover how pluralistic the Capital truly is, far beyond its most famous monuments.
The festival is rooted in the Municipio Roma XI Arvalia Portuense, a territory stretching along the right bank of the Tiber that includes districts such as Portuense, Magliana, Marconi, Trullo, and Corviale. It is a vibrant, multicultural area of the Metropolitan City of Rome, in the Lazio region, where stories, languages, and traditions from all over the world coexist. Bringing a festival of cultural encounters here means celebrating a social fabric that is alive and constantly evolving.
Roma Plurale is one of the projects selected by the public call Roma Creativa 365. Culture all year round, promoted by the City of Rome to support widespread cultural offerings throughout 2025-2026. Included in Section 1, "Rome all year round," dedicated to performing and visual arts, the festival is conceived and produced by the association Liberamente A.P.S. It brings culture directly into the neighborhoods, outside the main historic center circuits, in line with the philosophy of a creative city 365 days a year.
The heart of Roma Plurale lies in the cross-pollination of different artistic languages. The program typically includes:
The goal is to offer opportunities for social gathering and cultural growth, engaging new audiences and giving space to less represented communities, in line with the objectives of the call.
Like other Roma Creativa 365 projects, Roma Plurale is designed to be accessible to everyone: events are held in squares, parks, and cultural spaces across Municipio XI, with free admission. More than just a calendar of events, the festival aims to be a shared experience, capable of fostering dialogue between long-term residents and new citizens of Rome around the idea of a plural and open Capital.
For 2026, Roma Plurale continues the journey started with the first edition, confirming its vocation as a widespread festival of cultural encounters in Rome's Municipio XI. The project, included in Section 1 "Rome all year round" of the Roma Creativa 365 public call, plans a period of activity between March and October 2026.
The usual program weaves together concerts, theater and dance performances, public space interventions, and visual art exhibitions, with a special focus on involving local communities, schools, and families. All events are free of charge. The detailed program for the 2026 edition, including dates and locations for individual events, will be published by the Liberamente A.P.S. association in the months leading up to the festival.
