The flower festival in the world's oldest botanical garden
Risvegli is the festival dedicated to flowers and the spring rebirth of nature, held at the Botanical Garden of Padua, the oldest university botanical garden in the world, founded in 1545 and recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. For a few days, the garden celebrates flowers as an expression of beauty and a source of inspiration for a new way of living in the world.
The program intertwines conferences and meetings with researchers, workshops for children and adults, guided tours, shows, and artistic performances, with special openings of the greenhouses and collections. Each edition revolves around a theme related to care, responsibility, and contemporary environmental challenges, in collaboration with Italian and international scientific and cultural institutions.
Organized by the Botanical Garden of the University of Padua, Risvegli is an opportunity to rediscover the historical and scientific value of the garden and to experience spring in Veneto with a new perspective on biodiversity, botany, and the relationship between humans and nature.
The eleventh edition of Risvegli takes place from May 1st to 3rd, 2026 at the Botanical Garden of Padua. The festival celebrates flowers as an expression of beauty and a source of inspiration for a new way of living in the world, with a program focused on cycles, transformations, and change, and on the themes of care, responsibility, and contemporary environmental challenges.
The program offers conferences and meetings with international researchers, workshops for children, workshops for adults, guided tours, shows, and artistic performances. Among the notable collaborations: the Linnean Society of London, the Fondazione Benetton Studi Ricerche, the Osmothèque (International Perfume Conservatory of Versailles), and the botanical gardens of Leiden and Parma.
