On June 2nd in Rivergaro, between the band parade, flag-raising, and the hobbyists' market in the square
On June 2nd, while all of Italy commemorates the birth of the Republic, the Municipality of Rivergaro, overlooking the Trebbia river in the province of Piacenza, offers a day that blends the solemnity of the national occasion with the warmth of a village festival. The event is organized by Pro Loco Tramballando in collaboration with the Municipality of Rivergaro and involves the entire historic center, from Via Don Veneziani to the two main squares.
The events begin at 10:30 AM with the gathering in Via Don Veneziani, in front of the War Memorial, where, in collaboration with the Rivergaro Alpini Group, the flag-raising ceremony takes place. Around 10:45 AM, the grand parade begins, with Pro Loco organizations from the entire province invited to participate: the procession winds through the town's streets accompanied by the Vignola Band of Agazzano and the majorettes, fostering a spirit of popular participation.
The commercial and curious heart of the day is the Hobbyists' Market, which from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM fills Piazza Paolo and Piazza Dante. Numerous exhibitors offer items ranging from antiques to crafts, including hobbyist items, collectibles, quality used goods, and many curiosities: an opportunity to stroll among the stalls in search of a bargain or a forgotten little treasure.
The Hobbyists' Market is a recurring event in Rivergaro's calendar, and June 2nd provides its most heartfelt setting, alongside the republican celebration. Pro Loco Tramballando, a benchmark for the town's social life for over twenty years, also links moments of celebration and recognition for the territory to this date. For visitors to the Val Trebbia, it's an opportunity to discover a village in Emilia-Romagna where civil memory and village conviviality naturally coexist.
For June 2, 2026, Pro Loco Tramballando and the Municipality of Rivergaro presented the traditional Republic Day combined with the Hobbyists' Market. The day, chosen to coincide with the national holiday, included a gathering from 10:30 AM in Via Don Veneziani, the flag-raising ceremony with the Rivergaro Alpini Group, and a parade through the town streets accompanied by the Vignola Band of Agazzano. In Piazza Paolo and Piazza Dante, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM, market exhibitors offered antiques, crafts, hobbyist items, and collectibles.
Rivergaro can be reached by car from the SS45 of Val Trebbia, about 18 km south of Piacenza. The nearest train station is Piacenza, on the Milan-Bologna line, from which you can continue by bus or car towards Val Trebbia.
Hobbyists' Market in Piazza Paolo and Piazza Dante from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM. Ceremonies and parade from 10:30 AM. Access to the market and ceremonies is free.
