The Race Among Hills and Vineyards is the summer running highlight in Morsasco, a charming hillside village in the province of Alessandria, located in the heart of the Piedmontese Upper Monferrato. Organized by the Acquirunners association in collaboration with Pro Morsasco Eventi, the event attracts running enthusiasts and casual walkers every year, all eager to discover the local area by running through rows of vines and scenic hilly landscapes.
The Course
The race covers a 7.4-kilometer mixed-terrain hilly route, starting and finishing at the Morsasco Sports Center. The course winds through the countryside and vineyards surrounding the village, offering participants classic views of the Monferrato landscape. The undulating nature of the terrain makes the challenge demanding yet accessible to both competitive athletes and amateurs, who are also welcome to walk the course.
Part of the Upper Monferrato Circuit
The Race Among Hills and Vineyards is a stage of the Upper Monferrato CSI running circuit, organized in collaboration with Acquirunners and the Maratoneti Capriatesi. The circuit brings together about ten races held in local municipalities between spring and autumn, awarding points toward the final Upper Monferrato Loyalty Prize ranking. No pre-registration is required for the Morsasco stage: participants can register directly on-site at the meeting point.
Sports and Tradition in Morsasco
The race is part of the summer calendar of events promoted by Pro Morsasco Eventi, which brings the village to life throughout August, leading up to the celebrations for the patron saint, Saint Bartholomew. The event is a perfect opportunity to experience the village in a sporty and social atmosphere, combining outdoor activity with the promotion of the hilly landscape of this corner of Piedmont.

Race Among Hills and Vineyards — edition 2026
2026 Edition
The 7th edition of the Race Among Hills and Vineyards is scheduled for Friday, August 7, 2026, in Morsasco. The meeting point is at the Sports Center, from where the 7.4 km hilly route through the village's vineyards and countryside begins.
The event is part of the 2026 CSI Upper Monferrato circuit (authorization 06/26) and awards points valid for the Loyalty Prize. No pre-registration is required. The event is organized by Acquirunners and Pro Morsasco Eventi and is part of the village's summer program, which culminates with the patronal feast of Saint Bartholomew.

How to get there
Morsasco is located in the province of Alessandria, in the Upper Monferrato area. By car, it can be reached from Acqui Terme or Ovada via the local provincial roads. The meeting point is at the Morsasco Sports Center.

Tips
