Two days dedicated to water resources, featuring a technical conference and a public festival at Parco Don Gnocchi
The Provincial Water Day is the event that the Province of Brescia dedicates each year to water resources, hosted in turn by a municipality in the territory. In 2026, it's Lumezzane's turn, a populous center in Val Trompia in the province of Brescia, to host the event for two days that intertwine technical reflection and widespread celebration, involving institutions, water service managers, schools, and citizens.
The first day is reserved for professionals. At the Odeon Theatre on Via Marconi, a technical conference is held dedicated to the theme of micro-pollutants in water, with presentations on models, analysis, and mitigation strategies for these substances increasingly present in groundwater and water bodies. It is a moment of discussion among technicians, engineers, and administrators, complete with professional training credits for participants, which testifies to the concrete and current dimension of the water challenge in the Brescia area.
The following day, attention shifts to Parco Don Gnocchi, where the event opens to the city. From the morning, information stands, workshops on water and the circular economy, activities for children, and guided tours of the area come to life. The heart of the day is the DegustAcqua workshop, created in collaboration with MUSE of Trento, which invites participants to recognize and "taste" different waters. There will also be live radio, a food area, bouncy castles, face painting, and soap bubble shows, culminating in a final concert that closes the day with music.
The initiative was born with a clear objective: to bring citizens closer to the value of water as a common good, explaining its cycle, management, and threats. In Lumezzane, a municipality with a strong industrial vocation, the event takes on particular significance, reminding us how water quality is linked to human activities and the collective responsibility of the entire provincial territory of Brescia.
In 2026, Lumezzane, in Val Trompia, hosts the Provincial Water Day. Friday, May 22, opens with a technical conference at the Odeon Theatre dedicated to micro-pollutants in water; Saturday, May 23, the event comes alive at Parco Don Gnocchi with stands, workshops, children's activities, guided tours, the DegustAcqua workshop by MUSE, and a final concert by the WeFunk Band.
3 professional training credits are available for attending engineers.
Throughout the day: workshops on water and the circular economy, live radio, children's games, food area, bouncy castles, face painting, and special opening of the fire station.
The technical conference is held at the Odeon Theatre, Via Marconi 5, Lumezzane (BS). The public day takes place at Parco Don Gnocchi.
Lumezzane is reachable by car from Val Trompia, about 20 km from Brescia. The nearest train station is Brescia, from which you can continue with public transport for Val Trompia.
Free admission. Guided tours and DegustAcqua workshops require booking, subject to availability.
