About Primavera Chitarristica

Primavera Chitarristica is the spring concert series dedicated to classical guitar that takes place in Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region, at the "E. Neroni" Carisap Auditorium. Promoted by the Fondazione Carisap with the patronage of the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno and the "G. Spontini" Musical Institute, the event offers a series of four Sunday recitals that bring together prominent performers on the Italian and international guitar scene, with a particular focus on young musicians and new generations of listeners.

A festival dedicated to classical guitar

Primavera Chitarristica is one of the most anticipated events of the musical season in Ascoli Piceno, an art city in the Marche Region famous for its Renaissance squares and the travertine of its buildings. The festival, promoted by the Fondazione Carisap with the patronage of the Municipality of Ascoli Piceno and in collaboration with the "G. Spontini" Musical Institute, offers a cycle of concerts every spring entirely dedicated to classical guitar and its dialogue with other instruments.

Where it takes place

The concerts are held at the "E. Neroni" Carisap Auditorium, a concert hall in the center of Ascoli Piceno that offers an intimate and ideal acoustic for chamber music repertoire. All events begin at 6:00 PM and are spread throughout the spring Sundays, between the end of March and mid-May.

A high-quality program

The festival is distinguished by its search for excellent concert proposals, capable of reaching a wide and diverse audience. Alongside solo recitals, the program highlights the guitar in its chamber and concert variations: duets with cello, piano, and ensembles, from early music to the 20th century, from Boccherini to Castelnuovo-Tedesco, including the great Spanish and South American tradition of De Falla, Albéniz, and Piazzolla.

Focus on young people

Among the objectives of Primavera Chitarristica is the promotion of new generations of musicians and audiences. The festival complements concerts with in-depth sessions, such as masterclasses for students, contributing to making Ascoli Piceno a reference point for guitar culture in the Marche region.

An event rooted in the territory

More than just a concert series, Primavera Chitarristica is an opportunity to experience the historic center of Ascoli Piceno in spring, combining music with the discovery of the city. Some events conclude with tastings of oil and wine from local producers, emphasizing the link between the festival and the gastronomic identity of the Piceno territory.
