About Presepe Vivente di Le Cese

During the Christmas period, the uninhabited medieval village of Le Cese, a hamlet of Casebasse in Nocera Umbra (PG), comes to life thanks to its Living Nativity. A tradition that has lasted for over thirty years: more than a hundred figures bring the alleys of the ancient village to life, recreating the Nativity and daily life of the past amidst lights, sounds, and period scenes. Organized by volunteers from the Parish of San Giovenale, it is one of the most evocative Christmas experiences in the area.

The Living Nativity of Le Cese

When Christmas arrives, the small, now uninhabited medieval village of Le Cese, a hamlet of Casebasse in the municipality of Nocera Umbra (province of Perugia), comes back to life. Its Living Nativity is a tradition established for over thirty years, becoming one of the most anticipated events of the Christmas period in Umbria.

A Hundred Figures in the Alleys

Over a hundred volunteers bring the scenes to life along the streets of the ancient village, recreating the Nativity and the trades and daily life of the past. The representation unfolds through the village alleys, with skillful use of lights, sounds, and settings that offer the visitor an authentic and intimate atmosphere.

A Community Effort

The nativity scene is organized by the volunteers of the Parish of San Giovenale, who dedicate time and passion each year to the reconstruction of the village. It is one of the most engaging Christmas experiences in the Nocera Umbra area, capable of uniting devotion, historical memory, and community spirit.
