A corner of Argentina in the heart of the Marche, between tango, music, and asado
There are festivals born from an authentic bond, and Potenza Argentina is one of them. In the historic center of Potenza Picena, a municipality in the province of Macerata in the Marche region, for three days you can breathe the atmosphere of Buenos Aires: the aroma of asado, the notes of tango, the colors of South American folklore. It is an event that celebrates the deep historical and cultural ties that unite this small town in the Marche with the Argentine land, a story made of emigration, returns, and affections that cross the ocean.
The symbolic heart of the event is the Piramide de Mayo present in Potenza Picena, the only European copy of the monument located in the center of Buenos Aires, in Plaza de Mayo. Around this symbol revolves the idea of a hug between two distant lands but linked by a deep history, also told through a dedicated photographic exhibition, curated by the local FotoClub.
The program unfolds between the Belvedere Donatori di Sangue (the Pincio) and Largo Giacomo Leopardi, animating the center from morning to night. It ranges from tango performances to open lessons, from live concerts of cumbia and folklore to evenings with DJs, including the traditional mateada, football tournaments for children, and Argentine cooking workshops.
Promoted by the Municipality of Potenza Picena in collaboration with the Asociación Argentinos Le Marche and with the patronage of the Marche Region, Potenza Argentina is designed to involve families, young people, and visitors. An opportunity to discover Argentine culture without leaving the Marche, and to rediscover a piece of shared identity that links this corner of the Macerata area to the other side of the Atlantic.
The second edition of Potenza Argentina animated the historic center of Potenza Picena for three days, from May 23 to 25, 2026, promoted by the Municipality in collaboration with the Asociación Argentinos Le Marche and with the patronage of the Marche Region. Between the Belvedere Donatori di Sangue and Largo Giacomo Leopardi, folklore shows, tango performances and lessons, a milonga open to all, live concerts, and DJ sets alternated, accompanied by the flavors of Argentine cuisine in the food trucks. Enriching the event was the photographic exhibition dedicated to the Piramide de Mayo, a symbol of the bond between Potenza Picena and Argentina.
