About Potenza Argentina

Potenza Argentina is the festival that transforms the historic center of Potenza Picena, in the province of Macerata, into a lively corner of Argentina. Three days dedicated to the deep bonds that unite this small town in the Marche region with the land of tango: live music, tango and folklore performances, milonga open to all, cooking workshops, children's area, and specialties like empanadas and asado. At the center of the event is the Piramide de Mayo, the only European copy of the famous monument in Buenos Aires.

A hug between Potenza Picena and Argentina

There are festivals born from an authentic bond, and Potenza Argentina is one of them. In the historic center of Potenza Picena, a municipality in the province of Macerata in the Marche region, for three days you can breathe the atmosphere of Buenos Aires: the aroma of asado, the notes of tango, the colors of South American folklore. It is an event that celebrates the deep historical and cultural ties that unite this small town in the Marche with the Argentine land, a story made of emigration, returns, and affections that cross the ocean.

The Piramide de Mayo, symbol of the festival

The symbolic heart of the event is the Piramide de Mayo present in Potenza Picena, the only European copy of the monument located in the center of Buenos Aires, in Plaza de Mayo. Around this symbol revolves the idea of a hug between two distant lands but linked by a deep history, also told through a dedicated photographic exhibition, curated by the local FotoClub.

Three days of music, dance, and flavors

The program unfolds between the Belvedere Donatori di Sangue (the Pincio) and Largo Giacomo Leopardi, animating the center from morning to night. It ranges from tango performances to open lessons, from live concerts of cumbia and folklore to evenings with DJs, including the traditional mateada, football tournaments for children, and Argentine cooking workshops.

  • Tango and milonga: lessons, shows, and a milonga open to all
  • Argentine folklore: live groups and artists
  • Argentine cuisine: empanadas, asado, and other specialties in food trucks
  • Children's area: face painting, balloon sculptures, and games
  • Institutional ceremony: commemoration of the Argentine May Revolution Day

A festival for the whole community

Promoted by the Municipality of Potenza Picena in collaboration with the Asociación Argentinos Le Marche and with the patronage of the Marche Region, Potenza Argentina is designed to involve families, young people, and visitors. An opportunity to discover Argentine culture without leaving the Marche, and to rediscover a piece of shared identity that links this corner of the Macerata area to the other side of the Atlantic.
