About Porto Maggio

For almost half a century, the Porto San Pancrazio district in Verona has come together in May for its community festival. Porto Maggio is ten days of food stalls, live music, tribute bands, dancing, and social gatherings that liven up the courtyard of the L. Fava Middle School. In 2026, from May 22nd to 31st, the 47th edition takes place: an authentic popular festival, organized by neighborhood volunteers, where tradition, solidarity, and fun intertwine night after night.

A Neighborhood Festival Nearly Fifty Years Old

Porto Maggio is the historic community festival of the Porto San Pancrazio district, on the eastern outskirts of Verona, along the Adige River. Now in its 47th edition in 2026, it is organized by the Associazione Carnevale Porto San Pancrazio in collaboration with the 7th District and represents one of the most cherished events of Veronese neighborhood identity: one of those popular festivals made of volunteers, genuine cuisine, and neighborly bonds that withstand the passage of time.

Cuisine, Music, and Socializing

The heart of the festival is the courtyard of the "L. Fava" Middle School, where food stalls open every evening with dishes from the Veneto and Veronese tradition. Live music accompanies the evenings: tribute bands, ballroom dancing groups, DJ sets, and shows ranging from the 70s to Italian hits. The evenings alternate moments for all ages, from concerts to baby dance for the little ones.

Community and Solidarity

Porto Maggio is not just entertainment: the festival preserves community rituals such as the vintage bicycle parade, the celebration with city authorities, the convivial lunch for the neighborhood's elderly, and awards for AVIS donors. It is a demonstration of how, even in a large city like Verona, neighborhoods can cultivate a strong sense of belonging and collective participation.

Porto Maggio — edition 2026
