The festival of free thought and confrontation
In an era of firm positions and little dialogue, Pordenonepensa – Festival of Confrontation chooses a counter-current path: bringing people with different opinions to the same table and letting them truly discuss. The review tackles economy, current affairs, politics, music, and culture from different and antithetical perspectives, convinced that, as it likes to repeat, "culture belongs to everyone and free discussion is its salt".
The festival rejects censorship and pre-packaged truths. The meetings are designed to highlight the value of dissent and dialogue, giving space to diverse voices in public debate. Not a stage for certainties, but a place where ideas are openly measured, in front of an audience invited to form their own opinion.
Over the years, Pordenonepensa has grown, branching out into several thematic reviews: PnPensa in Giallo, dedicated to noir and crime fiction; PnPensa Scienza, on the great topics of knowledge; PnPensa alla Scuola, aimed at the world of education; PnPensa alla Musica, which intertwines thought and sound. An ecosystem of events capable of speaking to different audiences.
Organized by the Circolo Culturale Eureka, the festival takes place mainly in Pordenone but also involves several neighboring municipalities in Friuli Venezia Giulia, contributing to making the territory a place of widespread debate and culture.
Pordenonepensa returns in June 2026 with its formula of open debates and discussions, included in the "Spring in Pordenone 2026" program. The thematic sections of the review, from noir to science, from school to music, are confirmed.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be announced in the coming weeks on the official website. The event traditionally features debates between guests with different and opposing positions on economy, politics, current affairs, and culture, alongside the sections PnPensa in Giallo, PnPensa Scienza, PnPensa alla Scuola, and PnPensa alla Musica, with events in Pordenone and neighboring municipalities.
