Edition 2025 — Pollina Carnival
In 2025, the Pollina Carnival confirmed its role as a reference point for the popular culture of the Madonie, with a program that also involved the nearby hamlet of Finale. The heart of the festival was, as per tradition, the Nonnu parade, the puppet of the old man riding a donkey, escorted by a procession of a fake mayor, priest, notary, and policeman through the village alleys. The climax was the reading of the testament in the main square, full of irony and satire regarding the year's events, with barbs aimed at political and religious authorities and citizens. There was no shortage of masked group parades, recreational afternoons with games and the 'most beautiful mask' contest for children, dancing in the square, and the tasting of cavattuni cu sucu da sasizza, the local pasta with sausage sauce offered to participants.
