International jazz in the squares of Polignano a Mare

The Polignano a Mare International Jazz Festival is a late-summer event that fills the most beautiful squares and scenic spots of Polignano a Mare—a renowned seaside town in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Apulia—with music. Now in its third edition in 2025, the festival is organized by the 4Seasons Eventi Association under the artistic direction of Roberta Marchese and is part of the "Porta delle Culture" (Gateway to Cultures) program promoted by the municipal administration.
The festival's format goes beyond evening concerts: it focuses on fostering dialogue between international artists, local talent, and young local musicians. Alongside live performances, the event hosts free workshops and in-depth sessions, such as the "Face-to-face with the artist. Jazz? …let's talk about it!" format, designed to bring the public closer to the language and history of this genre.
Jazz thus becomes a bridge between genres and disciplines: in past editions, the festival has hosted evenings blending music and fashion, as well as dialogues between jazz, pop, rock, soul, rap, classical, tango, and folk music, culminating in final jam sessions involving students from local music schools.
The natural stage for the festival is the scenic Piazza Aldo Moro, the heart of town life, but events also take place in other symbolic locations in Polignano, such as the gardens of the Pino Pascali Foundation Museum of Contemporary Art and the charming Piazza della Trinità , overlooking the sea. This route highlights the bond between music and the city's heritage, which has earned it the "City of Music" brand registration.
One of the hallmarks of the event is free admission to all performances, making great jazz accessible to both residents and tourists in one of the most visited locations on the Apulian Adriatic coast. It is the perfect opportunity to combine a quality music evening with the discovery of Polignano's historic center, its sea-view terraces, and its culinary traditions.
At the moment, the organizers of the 4Seasons Eventi Association have not yet communicated the official dates for the 2026 edition of the Polignano a Mare International Jazz Festival. Considering the timing of past editions, which took place between late August and early September, it is likely that the festival will return to animate the squares of the town in the province of Bari in 2026 as well. The program, including artists, venues, and times, will be announced later: this page will be updated as soon as official information becomes available.
Events are held in various locations in the center of Polignano a Mare (BA): Piazza Aldo Moro, Piazza della Trinità , and the gardens of the Pino Pascali Museum.
