Pitirri Festival (Festival of Scents and Flavors)

The 2025 Pitirri Festival enlivened Sutera (Province of Caltanissetta) on the evening of April 26, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM, in Piazza Sant'Agata. After the inauguration ceremony and ribbon-cutting accompanied by music, the evening continued with a performance by the group I Centoquattro, who brought rhythms and songs to the square for dancing. There was also a didactic workshop dedicated to the preparation of pitirri, the traditional dish made from hand-sifted durum wheat semolina enriched with wild herbs. It was an evening of gastronomy, music, and family entertainment in the spirit of Suterese peasant tradition.
