Science tells its story in pubs, over a beer
Pint of Science is the world's largest international science communication festival, held every spring simultaneously in dozens of countries. In Trieste, a city synonymous with science, the event is coordinated by Area Science Park and brings researchers out of their laboratories and into downtown pubs to talk about their work in a simple and engaging way.
For three evenings, five venues in the city — including Old London Pub, Meeting Point, The Hope Store, Il Grande Buffo, and Reginald's House — host about fifteen researchers. Over a beer, the public listens to talks on physics, biology, artificial intelligence, the environment, and medicine, with the opportunity to ask questions and engage directly with the scientists.
The goal is to create a bridge between the world of research and the general public in an accessible and informal setting. Trieste, with its numerous scientific institutions — from Area Science Park to ICTP, from SISSA to national research institutes — is one of the 28 Italian cities involved and showcases some of its best outreach talent.
Admission to all events is free and open to all: just show up at one of the participating pubs. A lighthearted yet rigorous format that has won over a large and curious audience, far beyond just industry professionals.

The full program for the three evenings will be published on the official Pint of Science Italia website. The structure includes, in each of the five pubs:
