About Piave Marathon

The Piave Marathon is the sporting and environmental event that for two days enlivens the course of the Piave river with canoes, kayaks, and bicycles. Ten Municipalities of the Lower Piave, from San Biagio di Callalta to Cavallino-Treporti, provide the backdrop for a large, widespread festival that combines river descent and cycle tourism. San Donà di Piave is the central stage: its River Park hosts the arrival of the boats and serves as a hub between the two days of competition, dedicated to sport, nature, and the enhancement of the territory.

The sport that flows along the Piave

The Piave Marathon is an event that intertwines sport, nature, and discovery of the territory along the course of the Piave river, in eastern Veneto. The formula combines two aspects: the river descent by canoe and kayak, and the cycle tourism routes on both banks of the river.

Ten Municipalities celebrating

The event involves ten Municipalities of the Lower Piave: San Biagio di Callalta, Ponte di Piave, Salgareda, Zenson di Piave, Noventa di Piave, Fossalta di Piave, San Donà di Piave, Musile di Piave, Jesolo, and Cavallino-Treporti. Along the route, there are stops dedicated to refreshments and cultural initiatives, which transform the race into a widespread celebration of the territory.

San Donà, the central stage

San Donà di Piave plays a pivotal role: its River Park hosts the arrival of the canoe and kayak events and acts as a link between the two days. The event is promoted by Venice Canoe & Dragon Boat ASD together with the Organizing Committee La Piave Marathon, with the support of the BIM Basso Piave Consortium.

Piave Marathon — edition 2026

The second edition of the Piave Marathon took place on May 9 and 10, 2026, expanding the format inaugurated in 2025: two days of canoes, kayaks, and cycling along the Piave, with San Donà di Piave as the central stage at the River Park.

The 2026 edition, the second, confirmed and expanded the event's formula along the Piave river, with two days dedicated to river descent by canoe and kayak and to cycle tourism routes. Ten Municipalities were involved, from San Biagio di Callalta to Cavallino-Treporti, with the River Park of San Donà di Piave as the focal point of the event.
