About Pianura Golosa

Pianura Golosa is the food and wine exhibition that every early March transforms the Area Exp of Cerea (Verona) into a grand showcase of the excellences of the Veronese Plain. Over eighty local producers animate the Piazza dei Sapori with tasting stands, while the heart of the event is the Palio della Stortina Veronese, a Slow Food presidium dedicated to a traditional peasant salami preserved in lard in terracotta containers. The program is completed by exhibitions, presentations, dances, the cycling event Piase Gravel, and the Sapori e Paesaggi di Cerea walk.

The excellences of the Veronese Plain

Pianura Golosa is the food and wine market held at Area Exp in Cerea, in the province of Verona, dedicated to the gastronomic excellences of the Veronese Plain. Over 80 producers from the area animate the Piazza dei Sapori with a dining area and specialty stands, in a three-day event celebrating local food culture.

The Palio della Stortina Veronese

The heart of the exhibition is the Palio della Stortina Veronese, a Slow Food presidium that awards the best producer of this particular traditional peasant salami, preserved under ground lard and salt in terracotta containers. The competition is organized by the Slow Food Valli Grandi Veronesi branch together with Pro Loco Cerea.

Culture, sport, and conviviality

The program complements the gastronomy with exhibitions such as Trame d'impresa, presentations of guides to typical eateries, dance evenings, the Piase Gravel cycling event, and the Sapori e Paesaggi di Cerea walk. An early spring event that tells the agro-food identity of Cerea and the Bassa Veronese.
