About Piano City Milan

For an entire weekend, Milan transforms into a grand open-air concert hall: Piano City Milan fills the city with music with over 250 free piano concerts, with free admission, held in more than 140 locations including gardens, courtyards, museums, private homes, and public spaces. The 2026 edition, the sixteenth, has its Main Stage in the GAM garden and features over 250 Italian and international artists, from the opening concert by Sofiane Pamart to the famous dawn concert at the Velodromo Vigorelli.

The City of the Piano

Piano City Milan is one of the most beloved and popular music festivals in the Lombard capital: for three days, the piano leaves the concert halls and invades the city. Courtyards, gardens, museums, libraries, private homes, terraces, and public spaces become stages for hundreds of free concerts, in a widespread festival that redefines the geography of Milan (Province of Milan, Lombardy) through music.

The 2026 Edition

The sixteenth edition, from Friday 15 to Sunday 17 May 2026, offers over 250 concerts with more than 250 Italian and international artists in over 140 locations in the city. The Main Stage is set up in the garden of the GAM - Galleria d'Arte Moderna, in Via Palestro, where the major evening concerts are held.

Openings and Symbolic Moments

The festival opens on Friday 15 May at 9:00 PM at the GAM with a concert by Sofiane Pamart, one of the most followed pianists of his generation. Among the most evocative moments is the traditional dawn concert: Sunday 17 May at 6:00 AM at the Velodromo Vigorelli, with the Icelandic composer Snorri Hallgrímsson.

A City Project

Piano City Milan is promoted and produced by the Associazione Piano City Milano together with the Municipality of Milan, with artistic direction by Ricciarda Belgiojoso and Titti Santini. All events are free and open to the public until capacity is reached: a model that has set a precedent and inspired similar "Piano City" events in other European cities.
