About Peri Festival

Between late June and early July, San Pietro Viminario, in the province of Padua, celebrates the Peri Festival, a feast named after the "peretti sanpieroi", the local pear variety that ripens around June 29th, the day of the patron saint San Pietro. In the picturesque cloister of the Parish Church of San Pietro Apostolo, there are evenings of music and dancing, a large charity raffle, inflatable games and a funfair for children, and a rich food and wine stand. Organized by the parish with the Pro Loco and the Municipality.

The festival of pears and the patron saint

The Peri Festival takes place between late June and early July in San Pietro Viminario, a municipality in the Bassa Padovana area in the province of Padua. The name derives from the "peretti sanpieroi", the typical local pear variety that ripens around June 29th, the day of the patron saint San Pietro.

In the parish cloister

The event is held in the picturesque cloister of the Parish Church of San Pietro Apostolo. The program includes evenings of music and dancing, a large charity raffle, inflatable games and a funfair with bumper cars and rides for the little ones, as well as a rich food and wine stand with local specialties.

Devotion and community

Alongside the festival, the community gathers in honor of San Pietro, its patron saint, to pray, celebrate, and share moments of fraternity. Organized by the parish with the support of the Pro Loco and the Municipality, the Peri Festival combines the religious dimension with a convivial atmosphere, making it one of the most anticipated events of the San Pietro summer.
