The patronal festival of Cervino: a blend of faith, music, and fireworks
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
In the heart of summer, the small town of Cervino, in the province of Caserta, honors its two protectors with the Patronal Feast of San Vincenzo Ferreri and Madonna delle Grazie. It is the most anticipated event of the year, drawing not only locals but also those who have moved away and visitors from neighboring towns. For three days, typically during the first weekend of August, the streets are filled with festive lights, music, and the vibrant atmosphere of celebration.
The religious core of the event is the solemn Sunday procession: the statues of San Vincenzo Ferreri and Madonna delle Grazie leave the church to travel through the town center, with numerous stops allowing the faithful to pay their respects. It is the most moving moment of the festivities, accompanied by Eucharistic celebrations and the sounds of the marching band. The feast is rooted in centuries-old popular devotion, which has returned to its former glory after a period of suspension.
Alongside the sacred aspects, the program features evenings dedicated to entertainment. A roaming band kicks off the festivities, while the stage hosts artists from the traditional Neapolitan music scene and popular local neomelodic singers. Past editions have featured artists such as Nico De Rosa, Emiliana Cantone, Rico Femiano, and Leo Ferrucci, alongside the comedy trio I Ditelo Voi. There is also plenty of entertainment for families and children.
The hallmarks of the Cervino festival are the pyrotechnic and pyromusical shows, which light up the sky upon the return of the procession and on the final evening in front of the church in Piazza Madonna delle Grazie. Traditional events also include a road race organized by the Pro Loco, which attracts athletes and enthusiasts along the town's streets.
The Patronal Feast of Cervino is much more than a religious recurrence: it is an identity-defining ritual that strengthens community bonds and showcases the soul of inland Campania. Organized by the Patronal Feast Committee with the support of the Pro Loco and the Municipality of Cervino, it blends faith, folklore, and joy in one of the most authentic celebrations in the province of Caserta.
The Cervino Patronal Feast returns, as is tradition, on the first weekend of August 2026 with three days of devotion, music, and folklore in honor of San Vincenzo Ferreri and Madonna delle Grazie. At the moment, the Patronal Feast Committee and the Pro Loco have not yet published the official dates and the complete program. As in previous years, the solemn Sunday procession, traditional Neapolitan concerts, pyromusical shows, and the road race through the town streets are expected.
Program not yet published. Based on previous editions, the following are planned: Eucharistic celebrations, a solemn procession of the two patron saints' statues on Sunday, evening concerts, pyrotechnic and pyromusical shows, and a road race organized by the Pro Loco.
Cervino is located in the province of Caserta, Campania. By car, it can be reached from the Caserta Sud exit (A1) or from the A30, following provincial roads toward the town. The nearest train station is Maddaloni, which offers connections to Caserta and Naples.
Religious celebrations and shows take place outdoors in the town center and at Piazza Madonna delle Grazie, with free admission. For updated dates for the 2026 edition, please follow the official channels of the Patronal Feast Committee and the Municipality of Cervino.
