Saint Syrus, Patron of Rota d'Imagna

December 9th is the day when Rota d'Imagna, a municipality in Valle Imagna in the province of Bergamo, celebrates its patron saint, Saint Syrus. The village's parish church is dedicated to Saints Syrus and Gottard, Bishops, protectors of the community.

Saint Syrus, the first bishop of Pavia, is a venerated figure in various locations in northern Italy. In Rota d'Imagna, his feast day represents one of the most heartfelt events of the year, a fixed-date recurrence that falls during Advent, just a few days before Christmas.
