The patron saint's feast of Cerro Veronese on the Lessinia plateau
Saint Oswald is the patron saint of Cerro Veronese, a small municipality on the Lessinia plateau in the province of Verona. The patronal feast, celebrated in August, is one of the most cherished events of the Cerrese summer: for several days, Piazzale Alferia comes alive with food and wine stalls, music, and shows that attract residents and holidaymakers.
The gastronomic stalls, set up by the Pro Loco Cerro Veronese, offer the typical flavours of the Lessinia region, from cured meats to mountain cheeses. The evenings are accompanied by dance music, DJ sets, and shows, while the summer market and entertainment for the little ones complete a programme designed for all ages.
Between the traditional funfair, evening shows, and moments of conviviality, the Feast of Saint Oswald retains the authentic character of Venetian patronal feasts, where devotion to the patron saint intertwines with the village celebration and the promotion of Lessinia's traditions.
On August 5, 2026, Cerro Veronese celebrates its patron saint Saint Oswald with the feast in Piazzale Alferia: food and wine stalls, music, shows, and markets liven up the community of the Lessinia plateau.
The detailed evening programme will be released by Pro Loco Cerro Veronese in the weeks preceding the feast.
Cerro Veronese can be reached by car from Verona by driving up the Lessinia along the provincial road; the events take place in Piazzale Alferia, in the centre of the village.
