Saint Louis is the patron saint of Limosano, a municipality in the province of Campobasso located about 14 km northwest of the provincial capital, in the Biferno valley. The village, divided between the historic center built on a tuff hill and the new part at the foot of the ducal palace, celebrates its patron saint every year on August 19th.
A Feast in the Heart of Summer
The occasion is the highlight of the Limosano summer and is part of a rich calendar of August events, which also includes the Sagra del Fegatello (August 14th) and the feast of San Donato. The religious celebrations, with the procession of the statue of Saint Louis through the village streets, are accompanied by civil festivities, with moments of music and social gathering that also attract former residents of Limosano who have emigrated.
