Eleven days of patronal feast between faith, sport, music, and gastronomy in the heart of Sant'Agostino
The Patron Saint's Festival of Sant'Agostino is the main popular festival of the hamlet of Sant'Agostino, in the Municipality of Terre del Reno, in the Province of Ferrara. Every year, in the second half of August, the Parish Courtyard on Corso Roma transforms for eleven consecutive days into a large meeting space where faith, sport, music, and good food intertwine. Organized by the Parish of Sant'Agostino with the support of the municipal administration and numerous local volunteer associations, the event is one of the most beloved in the Alto Ferrarese area.
The program unfolds over the evenings, with daily opening at 7:30 PM. The heart of the festival lies in the sports tournaments that animate most evenings: five-a-side football, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, as well as traditional card games like briscola and trionfo. There is also a running race that involves the entire town. The musical evenings bring orchestras, bands, and DJs to the square for dancing and entertainment for all ages, while the "Aperitif Corner" welcomes visitors before dinner.
The gastronomic stand is one of the souls of the festival: it ranges from cold cuts and spinach flans to the great traditional Emilian first courses like tortellini and passatelli, up to grilled second courses (lamb skewers, cutlets, sausage) accompanied by side dishes of fries and salad. To finish, homemade desserts: crepes, artisanal ice cream, and the famous "Pan di stelle del Patrono". Group reservations are accepted.
Beyond the convivial dimension, the festival retains its religious significance: the central Sunday is dedicated to the Holy Mass and procession in honor of the patron saint, a moment that brings the entire community together. In recent years, the festival has also hosted cultural meetings and "author aperitifs" with notable guests. In a territory marked in the past by the 2012 earthquake, the Patron Saint's Festival represents a sign of rebirth and cohesion, an occasion where the hamlet of Sant'Agostino and the entire Municipality of Terre del Reno, in Emilia-Romagna, come together around their roots.
From August 19 to 29, 2026, the hamlet of Sant'Agostino, in the Municipality of Terre del Reno, celebrates its patron saint for eleven days. Every evening, starting at 7:30 PM, the Parish Courtyard hosts tournaments, music, and conviviality.
