Pasta alla Pecorara Festival (Pecorino Cheese Festival)

The 2025 edition

In the setting of the village of Calascio, at the foot of the famous Rocca, the Pasta alla Pecorara Festival on August 12, 2025, once again celebrated the signature dish of local pastoral cuisine. The food stalls set up by the Pro Loco of Calascio served classic pasta alla pecorara, with sauce and ricotta, along with versions featuring local meat and vegetables.

There was no shortage of local pecorino cheese, arrosticini, and traditional desserts, paired with Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. The evening was enlivened by live folk music and traditional dancing, while artisan markets offered typical products from the Navelli Plateau. A highly anticipated event in the summer of the province of L'Aquila, with activities also designed for children and families.
