The Milan Cortina 2026 torch passes through Saronno
The Passage of the Olympic Flame for Milan Cortina 2026 is one of the most significant events that Saronno, in the province of Varese, has experienced in recent years. The Olympic torch, a universal symbol of the Games and their tradition, will pass through the city center as a stop on the long journey leading to the opening ceremony of the XXV Winter Olympic Games.
The torch enters the city along the streets of the center: Via Volonterio, Via San Giuseppe, Corso Italia, Piazza Libertà, and Via Roma, heading towards Solaro. Thousands of spectators will gather along the route as the torchbearers pass the flame in a relay that unites sport, community, and collective celebration.
The emotional heart of the event is the participation of over 1800 Saronno students, lined up along the route to welcome the flame. They, the younger generation, are the true protagonists of a day also intended as an educational moment and a transmission of Olympic values: peace, friendship, commitment, and respect.
The passage through Saronno is part of the Lombardy leg of the flame's journey, which will visit several cities in the Alto Milanese and Brianza regions before reaching Milan, where the opening ceremony will officially inaugurate the Games at the San Siro stadium. For Saronno and the province of Varese, it is an opportunity to feel part of a major international event, experiencing the excitement of the Olympics up close.
The Passage of the Olympic Flame in Saronno is scheduled for February 4, 2026, around 2:30 PM, as part of the 59th leg of the Milan Cortina 2026 torch relay.
