The Pantano Half Marathon is the most loved and attended half marathon in Basilicata. It is run in Borgo Pantano di Pignola, a few kilometers from Potenza, in an exceptional natural setting: the course winds around the Lake Pantano of Pignola, a precious WWF oasis that frames the race.

Organized by A.S.D. Podistica Amatori Potenza, in collaboration with FIDAL Basilicata and with the patronage of the Municipality of Pignola, the event is included in the national FIDAL calendar and attracts a large number of athletes each year, from the most competitive to running enthusiasts.

Two races in one celebration

The event offers two distances: the classic 21.097 km half marathon and the StraPantano, a competitive 9.9 km race, designed for those seeking a shorter challenge or wanting to get closer to road races. Both take place in the same natural setting, offering participants a smooth, green-immersed course.

The race day is also a moment of celebration for the Lucanian running community: early morning gathering, group start, refreshments along the route, awards, and race packs all contribute to creating the convivial atmosphere that has made the event famous.
