The Palio dei Fanciulli of Vigevano is the event that entrusts the younger generation with the task of recalling the city's glorious Renaissance period. Children and teenagers from the twelve city districts compete in a series of games that faithfully reproduce the competitions of the adult Palio, scheduled for autumn.
Between the Castle and Piazza Ducale
The event takes place between the Castello Visconteo and the famous Piazza Ducale, the monumental heart of Vigevano. Amidst period costumes, parades, and games, the event's stated goal is to entertain but also to pass on traditions to both young and old, involving families in a weekend of celebration.
A City Tradition
Organized by the Associazione Sforzinda as part of the Palio di Vigevano, the event is one of the most cherished appointments in the city's calendar. It is held in the Municipality of Vigevano (Province of Pavia) and represents an opportunity for the districts to nurture the new generations in the spirit of historical re-enactment.
