About Orobie Film Festival

The Orobie Film Festival is the international film festival dedicated to the culture, history, and adventure of the Orobie mountains and mountains around the world. Every year, at the end of January, the Cinema Gavazzeni in Seriate and the Sala Galmozzi in Bergamo host films selected by a jury of experts, meetings with mountaineers and explorers, photographic exhibitions, and literary awards. An event that tells the story of the mountains as a landscape, a challenge, and an identity, organized by the Associazione Montagna Italia.

The story of the mountains on the big screen

The Orobie Film Festival is an international film festival dedicated to mountains in all their facets: mountaineering, nature, culture, history, and adventure. Screenings take place at the Cinema Gavazzeni in Seriate, in the province of Bergamo, and at the Sala Galmozzi in the provincial capital, under the direction of the Associazione Montagna Italia.

A festival that speaks of the Orobie and the world

The festival focuses on the Orobie, the mountains that frame the Bergamo area, but also broadens its scope to the peaks of the entire planet. Each edition features a selection of films from dozens of countries, chosen from hundreds of submissions by a jury of experts. Alongside the film competition, the program includes a photography and literary competition, as well as meetings with mountaineers, directors, and explorers who share their adventures live.

Twenty years of history

Founded in 2007, the Orobie Film Festival has reached its twentieth edition, establishing itself as one of the longest-running and most recognized mountain film events in Italy. The evenings at Cinema Gavazzeni, which begin at 8:30 PM, have become a ritual for outdoor, photography, and alpine culture enthusiasts, while the final awards ceremony crowns the jury's work.
